Vote to Select the Picture Books & Novel for #FSLGRA22
We considered all nominated books (including those submitted by their authors) as well as the books we the volunteer organizers had taken a particular interest in over the past year.
Ta dummmmmm..... Here are our shortlists for the 2022 edition of the FSL Global Read Aloud. The selected nominees are listed beginning with the simplest set of picture books, moving up through longer or more complex storybooks and finally, the novel category.
Cycle Primaire/K-4 | |
Cycle Moyen/Grades 3-8 |
Note that this year we opted to have just ONE novel category, as that group tends to be the one that is the most time consuming to research (i.e. reading whole novels that we buy or borrow to check out, as well as creating resources to share to help other teachers use the read-aloud effectively as a springboard for FSL learning in their various classes and situations). We also did not have as many suggestions submitted for novels. We are planning this change for the coming school year and are open to your thoughts and opinions as always regarding this adjustment.
Please vote! You have until May 29th to cast your digital ballot. You can vote for any or all categories, whether you are participating or not. Or leave some empty if you really just aren't sure. Either way is fine!

Remember to come back at the beginning of June to see which books won the open vote! This way, you will hopefully be able to order the books in advance with your school's resource budget. Then you can start planning when you are ready, be it at the end of this school year, during some downtime over the summer, or when you come back for a fresh year to begin.
